I do not like the "change" in the skill icons at all. It's annoying and does look really bad. I really hate scrolling through my skill window at the moment. Please change it back to what it looked like before the update.

This thread isn't about the 1 second it takes for skills on your personal bar to show their icon. This thread is about the 1 second it takes for icons to appear when you're watching others cast, and that 1 second vital.

Interrupting is almost impossbile now. What am I interrupting - hourglasses or skills? WTF?

It's annoying and should be fix asap
I saw this quote on a french GW forum:
Quote:
Izzy told me personally it was put in place before the nightfall event to solve a problem they couldn't fix in time, and they're working on fixing it now.

Hmm... I wonder if it's due to the profession-changing monsters? Maybe the system before had pre-defined skillsets for each NPC, with the icons already there. But when you run into something that can change it's profession, and thus it's skills, on the fly, they hit a snag with how the pre-loading was done, so implemented the hourglass thingies.
All speculation, of course. Either way - /signed fix it! fix it! fix it!

I'm sure this isn't intentional or anything; if ANet has been able to seamlessly display skills for over a year, why shouldn't they be albe to now? How hard can this be to fix?

/signed. This needs to be fixed, it's annoying how everything has it now and it takes 2 seconds to see what it (conditions, hexes) actually are.
Interrupting isn't a problem though, the skills have their names in the activation bar.

While those few seconds may seem insignificant at first glance, that's all the time it takes to be flattened in PvP and some areas of PvE

i never even noticed the problem myself but as you said it could be a substantial problem for players with "dated technology" im sure Anet will take this into consideration and do what is best for the community as a whole

I can live with scrolling through my skills and it taking some time to display them. I cannot live with not seeing what my opponents are doing.
My mesmer stopped interrupting for the time being and is nuking now.

??? Wrong thread?
I'm not going to sign this simply because I'm sure Anet is aware of the problem and working on fixing it.

but for right brained people (coz left brain is language oriented), they need the visuals.
reading phrases takes more time than looking at a picture and interrupting requires quick reflexes.

Absolutely.
/SIGNED.
Absolutey, unequivocally, and fully.
Want to know why??
If 'this' had happened back in the days when I used to play EQ (origonal Everquest, not the sequel), you can be damn sure Verant would of seen that head's rolled over it. THAT DAY. People fired, or disciplined... or given a stern talking to out-back behind the bins, whatever, and it FIXED immediately. Its been almost (or over?) a week now aswell, and there is no excuse for this not being rectified... if you know anything about coding, you know that this is childsplay stuff in terms of difficulty, all UI coding *is*, packet orientated modifications to the datastream for such information, likewise. Its not exactly as if they need to reinvent the wheel, and rewrite the entire C++ coding language. No excuses, whatsoever.
I have another theory, and you might not like it. Since there is no way this -can't- of been fixed... and day's ago... and ANet and Archangel Gray are keeping ominously quiet about it, I think the hour-glasses are here to stay.
So, to alot of you : i'd start thinking about signing this petition now, or you might be kicking yourself in a week or so.

I fear it may be still too difficult, alas, if only coding was as easy as taking a lot of random technical words and stringing together a nonsensical sentence...

I consider this a flame, since it has nothing to do with the topic at all, and just basically is a veiled implication i know just as little about anything (coding included) at all as this poster, obviously. Any mod's reading this, i'd like the previous post removed. Thanks
PS: It's probably 'nonsensical' to you (even though it is perfectly error-free both grammatically, and symantically) since i guess you're a retarded moron :P
Back to the topic at hand :

Why Sir, I do not know what you are inferring from my post, but I am absolutely both shocked and unequivocally appalled (fully) at the flames you have conveyed within your post.

Nice try man. The old backpeddle.
Don't think its gonna work... all the last 4 odd posts are completely off topic, flame orientated... and most importantly : started by you.
